Mark and Wendelin Zipping In A Tree

I’d never been zip-lining before, but for part of our vacation “therapy” that’s exactly what we did. The forest was huge and gorgeous and the mountain men that ran the “Adventure Camp” were great. The actual zipping was fun, but it was being up so high in the trees that I liked the best. It reminded me of being a kid and climbing trees.
And the tree fort we built when I was growing up.
And how much Juli Baker loved her sycamore tree.
I lost track of days, and wasn’t aware that the Flipped movie release in Los Angeles, Sacramento, and Austin had happened until I got messages about it.
Seems appropriate that I spent the day way up high in a tree.
We’re on our way home now, so I’ll be able to share some more things with you soon, and posts will go back to normal—or as close to that as I know how to get. (I’ll also make the time to answer comments from previous posts. For now know that, short or long, I always really enjoy reading your comments.)

Well, to me, it's not the idea of climbing trees again and being reminded of childhood, or even about memories at all, but the entire idea of being on vacation and not having to worry about anything for a day or two.

That's the feeling that makes me lose track of the days.

And to me, it's kind of funny, because when I go on vacation with my family, I do like to look back every now and then (actually, all the time). But in the end it's still mostly about losing myself in time rather than in memories.

Haha, sorry about that. I don't usually just start talking and not stop. Anyway, I love what you've been writing lately. :D

I love it when I lose track of time, because it usually means that I'm having fun. :-D ahahahaha. But really, those moments feel like they're little bits of eternity, if you know what I mean? Like those moments could go on forever, and you wouldn't mind. Which describes basically my entire elementary school experience.

I've always wanted to go ziplining! Especially when I was little and was zipping along those metal liners. :-)

I went to a camp where there was a triple-zipline that landed in the lake... I swear, the first time I went on it every single swimming head turned to see who was dying on the zipline XD. It was AWESOME.

And there's something about being up in a tree that changes your perspective... your perceptions of time and reality shift... it is a beautiful feeling.

I'm glad you're getting vacation "therapy". I know my family could use some :). Thanks for posting, can't wait to hear from you again,
Elizabeth

Ziplining? As in being off the ground and relying on a piece of rope to preserve your life? I can't do itttt.

You climbed the tree in my yard, Sammy.

One second. I told Christopher to stop typing over my shoulder. It is very annoying. *sigh* He wants to type something here. Here's him...

Okay. Do you know which Sammy Keyes book, I should read first. I want to read them but Sammy here explodes. "HOTEL THEIF! NO, WILD THINGS! COLD HARD CASH! ART OF DECEPTION!" She makes me call her Sammy so I make her call me Casey.

One second. Me again. One: I do not explode. I hyperventilate. Two...There is no two.

So she says that I should read them. She has read over a million books in her entire life, and she picks one series to be her favorite.

Back to me again. This is confusing. I'm making him come see Flipped this month. But he's gonna read the book first...

Wow, I would so totally do that. I mean, if I was ever offered a chance to zipline. My mom always says I'm the one to take risks, because my older sister is always looking over shoulder for murderers/stalkers/creepers when we're doing something alone, and I'm never worried about it. I know it's bad not to worry about killers, but I don't. She says I do things on impulse, which is probablu true because right now I literally can't move my legs out of all the times I tripped yesterday. Anyway, I so totally wanna do that. I remember when that's all my science teacher would talk about for a week because apparently she and her husband are aspiring to be the Safari-Couple or something and she does strange things like that.
The thing with stuff like that, is that it's only fun when people do it with you, and my older sister wouldn't do something like that for her life. Neither would my friends. Which is why my convincing persuasive skills come in handy during trips to Six Flags or Cedar Point or Wisconsin Dells. The one thing I'm not risky about is bugs, and that's a different story. My opinion is that bugs aren't worth have the trouble people put on for them.
Anyway. Ziplining! Sounds fun :D Thats gonna go on my list of 100 Things to Do Before I Die. I only have 41. Psh.

My friend went zip lining with her family in Costa Rica, it sounds like SO much fun! I was SOOOOO mad when I learned that the closest theater showing Flipped on the 6th was 2 hours away!

When I was in India, I went mini-ziplining. It was not a good experience. I should have guessed. I hate hights. It sounds like fun though!

Well, Christopher, it depends on what you like. If you like gangsters, read Search for Snake Eyes. If you like cammy, (do you know what that is?), then read Wild Things or Dead Giveaway. If you like things to do with counterfeit money, read Cold Hard Cash. Or you could just start on the first one: Hotel Thief. Hope that was helpful.

Christopher needs to get his own account. I mean, REALLY! This is him...again. What has happened to my Internet life?...

Okay so thanks Optimistic4ever. Actually, that sounds a lot like what NYD said. Only more exclamations.

This has absolutely nothing to do with your post, but I found a song that reminds me a LOT of Runaway. It's called In-N-Out by We the Kings. When I listen to it, I get pictures of a young Holly wide eyed, listening to stories of the Blue Lady, and an older Holly wishing the stories were true.

I love how every moment has a song that can describe it perfectly. ;)
